Humber Valley Resort
Humber Valley Resort an award-winning sports & leisure holiday destination, on the banks of Deer Lake which forms part of the Humber river in beautiful Newfoundland. This idyllic destination is a an adventure playground for the outdoor enthusiast, with a multitude of activities on the doorstep.
In September 08 the Resort Management group filed for protection under Canadas CCAA. It is hoped the new management team will be able to reorganise the structure of the company and re-open the resort shortly. In December 08 the Management company filed for Bankruptcy, it is hoped a new company will be able to take over the resort and return the project on to a sure footing.
This year-round adventure playground offers skiing, X-country, snowshoeing, snowmobiling. Summer is every bit as happening as winter with Golf, fishing, hiking and kayaking, whale watching, moose spotting and more. Support facilities include Front desk, cresh and Security.
The resort, accessed via its own private bridge, boasts a magnificent 18 hole Doug Carrick course set amongst the Canadian Spruce tree forest, a clubhouse, restaurant, beach house bar and private lakeside beach. There were plans for a new ´Village´ which should include shops and cafes, bars & restaurants, with views along the valley. A second 18 hole golf course is planned to compliment the original and will allow major tournements to be held here.
Due to the current management issues, we do not recommend purchasing property on the resort.
Just 15 minute drive away you´ll find the town of Corner Brook, traditionally a fishing port and dock, this town offers much of the comforts you expect in any modern area, there is a hospital, University, shopping mall with all conveniences (Even a Walmart). And an intimate downtown area which can get quite lively at the weekend.
Popularity of the area is set to increase as more people discover this pristine wilderness area.
